Hospitality on Display: Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center

JAG School

Located on the North Grounds at The University of Virginia is the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center. The Center adjoins UVa’s School of Law. Judge Advocates from all five Armed Forces of the United States attend the annual Judge Advocate Officer Graduate Course for which the Master’s Degree in Law is awarded. The Legal Center and School also trains new Judge Advocates and provides continuing legal education for Judge Advocates and lawyers from throughout the United States Government, as well as military allies from all over the world. It is the only school of its kind in the country.

The facility has 80 lodging rooms similar to area hotel rooms.  Due to the popularity of this program, some in attendance are also housed in area hotels. In each of these rooms, guests will find a copy of our Discover Charlottesville book – the exclusive in-room resource about the Charlottesville area.

JAG School Display

City Select has been supporting the mission of the JAG school for 13 years.  Your menu or brochure is displayed in the main lobby, and is a very popular resource.  Since the JAG Legal Center is military, security to enter the property and the building is very tightly controlled with armed guards, which means the amount of local information on display is limited to those with proper access.

Those in attendance (275+) are officers who have achieved a high rank and have a good disposable income. During off-hours, JAG school attendees regularly spend time dining at local restaurants and visiting area attractions, wineries and breweries. Often, this is their first time in the area, so they are eager to explore.
We are honored to work with the JAG Center, and we enjoy presenting our fine attractions and restaurants to these special guests in our community.
